If you’re anything like me, you’ve probably done more online shopping than you care to admit in the past few weeks of quarantine. I’ve gone to town on stationery (more on that in a future haul post) and, most recently, on bloated wardrobe picks for spring!
As many of my bloated gals have probably experienced, I recently experienced some weight gain due to the hormones I am taking for my endometriosis. Unfortunately, this meant that some of my favorite warm-weather clothes, including dresses and shorts, no longer fit.
Since the weather is (finally!) warming up a bit and getting outside is one of my only small pleasures these days, I thought I would splurge on some spring fashion to help me look cute on my once-a-day quarantine walks.
Here’s a look at what I bought — all the items are either from Abercrombie & Fitch or Old Navy. Both stores are closed for in-person shopping, but having a massive 50% off online sale right now, so I highly encourage you to take a look if you’re on the lookout for some cute ‘n’ comfy warm-weather clothing!
Lounging around the house is always on my to-do list these days — and more often than not, I find myself wearing my comfiest rather than my cutest clothes. Thankfully for me, this sweatshirt from A&F is both comfy and cute! It comes in a range of pastel hues (I opted for light purple) that will keep you warm in every spring breeze.
This loose-fitting top from A&F has a high-low silhouette, which I’m a fan of since I’m short with a long torso. The front tie keeps it summery and on-trend, while the cute collar draws the eye up — and away from your bloated tummy.
As I mentioned, I was on the lookout for better-fitting shorts — and I found them at A&F. These trendy shorts are high-waisted with a baggier fit, so they won’t dig uncomfortably into your stomach the way low-riders do. But unlike my mom’s shorts, they’re still distressed, so they make the high waist feel young again!
I can rarely pull off a midi dress since I’m 5’2,” but A&F added Tall and Petites to its range of sizing recently, which allowed me to get this cute floral number for spring. This dress has a higher waistline and a breezy fit, concealing any bloat below the smallest part of your waist. I love the wrap skirt, too, which can easily be tied tighter or looser depending on how your belly feels that day.
Loose and flowing is the name of the game when it comes to this top from Old Navy. The buttons and flutter sleeves feel fresh, while the relaxed fit keeps you feeling free no matter how much dairy you’ve eaten that day.
Much like the mom shorts from A&F, these boyfriend shorts from Old Navy feature a medium-rise waist and frayed cutoff details. I recommend sizing up for a baggier fit, which is both fashionable for spring and much comfier for those of us bloated girls out there.
